Locations-London-1

London

London is one of Europe’s most vibrant capital cities. With a rich history and countless renowned traditions, London boasts an abundant cultural life and is a city that always encourages creativity and excitement. As one of the world’s main financial hubs, London was coined The World’s Most Influential City of 2014 by Forbes Magazine for its vast media and advertising sector, and impressive start-up culture.

Past placements include Backes & Strauss, Newscape Capital, StoneHedge Partners, Tufenkian Carpets, Wigmore Medical, OTS Solicitors, Amber Capital and the Embassy of Armenia.

Participants will learn to live like locals, enjoying the atmosphere of traditional British pubs, sipping tea at some of London’s many famous tea rooms, and exploring the many landmarks and sites including Big Ben, the Tower of London, the Globe Theatre, Buckingham Palace, and the London Eye.

Activities

Thanks to the strong Armenian community in London, many events are hosted by program alumni, the AGBU London Young Professionals and local chapter. Some notable activities include, mentorship meetings and leadership talks with well-established businessmen and leading professionals, such as Mr. Vartkess Knadjian, CEO of the world’s oldest diamond company, Backes & Strauss, roundtable discussions with notable community members, tours to Google and Facebook headquarters in London.

Weekends are filled with discovery with visits to National Gallery and British Museum, but the city itself is a walking testament to world history. London remains a history-buff’s dream with every corner exposing facts from medieval times to the modern era. Of course, equally entertaining is the unparalleled theater culture in the West End. The group also enjoys organized excursions to Oxford, Manchester and Brighton.
